 follow the plan: Beckara M.

write down everything you consume . Test your blood sugar the eat to your meter way of testing and that will show you specifically how what you are consuming is impacting your blood sugar . Medications can only do so much. What you eat has the biggest impact. You must eliminate ALL grains : corn, rice, wheat, oats, bran, barley, rye, quinoa, couscous etc, no potatoes, all legumes ( beans, soy) peanuts are also a legume not a nut . You can have a little peanut butter if you must but almond butter would be a better choice . No fruit as fruit is natures candy. When you do get your blood sugar consistently around 100 you can test 1/4 cup of berries and see how they impact you . No cows milk as it is full of sugar . No bad oils . All of the non starchy carbohydrates, milk options, oil options and more are listed on the food list located in the announcement section.

Just a few observations from today’s posts.
Not everyone can follow this WOE, and that’s OK. There are many different ways to tackle this disease. Not everyone has to agree with these methods, but if we agree to learn and follow this WOE, then we should respect the people who are here trying to help. If you find this WOE doesn’t work for you, then leave and hopefully you can find something that does work for you.
Calling people out as “being rude” because they try to correct you is not cool. The group here is strict. There are strict lists that we follow. We don’t waver. That’s why it works. I’m proof. I started following this WOE in February 2020. I went from 10.7 A1C to 5.2 in 3 months. Lost 35 lbs and still at that weight loss. A1C is still around 5.2. I’ve been off all diabetic medication since late February of 2020. It works for me. It works for many people in here. We need to correct people when they give inaccurate information pertaining to our WOE.
When I first started here, I read and learned everything that I could about this WOE. I think it would be a disservice to new members reading a post that have ingredients and food items that are not compliant and therefore being mislead.
I myself, did my homework and confirmed their teachings with “outside information”. These moderators and senior members know what they’re talking about.
They definitely changed my life for the better

Yesterday marked my 1 yr diabetes journey. I was diagnosed 1 yr ago with an A1C of 7.8 and 240lbs. Today my A1C is 4.8 and my weight is 165lbs. This WOE works. I have not even been tempted to have a cheat day. Its just not worth it. You will see results sticking to this lifestyle.

Back in September of last year 2020 I was diagnosed with Type 2 after being hospitalized with a blood sugar of over 500. I remember feeling defeated, upset and lost. Not knowing what to do until my girlfriend suggested I look for groups on fb for support. I found this group and after talking to my Dr who advised against a lchf diet. I decided to listen to ppl who have actually gone through this and followed the WOE strictly. Today I got my results back from my Dr and the look of amazement on his face made the last few months of strict dieting worth it. He couldn’t believe how low my A1c is now compared to September. He said usually patients drop 1-2% in their A1c but I almost halved mine. Down from 10 to 5.6. He even took me off metformin which is the best news I’ve had in a while. I hated the side effects of it. But I shared this to say thank you and I’ve been a silent creeper for the last few months but I have really tried to take in as much information as possible.
